CHRIS CRAWFORD: Andrés Giménez was one of the top names that headed to Cleveland, in the Francisco Lindor blockbuster, but unfortunately became a fantasy afterthought to begin 2022, after a 2021 season that saw him hit just .218 with a .633 OPS. To say that he's been better this year, however, is quite the understatement. Giménez is now hitting .299, .364, .481, with 12 homers and 12 stolen bases, and somewhat quietly has been one of the best fantasy middle infielders in baseball. It's also worth pointing out that this is a player that doesn't turn 24 until the beginning of September. So there's plenty of long-term potential.

Let's focus on what he's doing in 2022, however. He's one of the few players that ranks above the 70th percentile in expected weighted on-base average, expected slugging, and expected batting average. He's also in the 95th percentile in sprint speed.

The one frustrating part of Gimenez's game is that he's an impatient hitter that has needed 14 hit-by pitches to put up his quality on-base percentage, as he's drawn just 19 free passes in his 96 games. Still, Giménez can flat out hit, and he should be one of the top middle infield options for the remainder of the year. He's still available in a quarter of Yahoo leagues, by the way. Just saying.
