Cowboys sign former Bears OT Jason Peters

Much like Jason Peters saved an injury-stricken Chicago Bears team last year, he’s doing the same for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have signed Peters to a one-year deal just one week before the start of the 2022 NFL season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Peters will start out on Dallas’ practice squad before working his way up in the lineup, explains Rapoport.

The move comes after Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him out until at least December, or longer.

Last summer, the Bears signed Peters to a one-year deal after rookie Teven Jenkins underwent back surgery. He started 15 games at left tackle for Chicago.
