Cooperstown, Delhi girls defend home court with league wins
Jan. 29—The Cooperstown girls basketball defeated Mount Markham 47-36 at home Monday.
Rory Nelen led the way with 15 points and eight rebounds while Brenna Seamon added a double-double of 13 points and 19 rebounds, Mia Kaltenbach had 10 points and Olivia Murdock grabbed 10 rebounds in the win.
Jenna Kocienda and Maggie Plummer each scored 10 points for Mount Markham.
Cooperstown will visit Hamilton next Monday.
Delhi 61, Deposit-Hancock 43
A balanced offense helped Delhi defeat Deposit-Hancock 61-43 in Monday's Midstate Athletic Conference matchup.
Natalie Vredenburgh led the Bulldogs with 18 points and four assists. Elsewhere, Kylie Cheshire had 10 points and four assists, Dannielle Ennist scored nine points and Eleanor Wagner notched eight points and four steals.
Sarah Gross scored a game-high 22 points for Deposit-Hancock.
Delhi (12-4) is off until next Monday when it visits Walton/Downsville.
Cobleskill-Richmondville 46, Oneonta 28
Oneonta fell to Cobleskill-Richmondville 46-28 on the road Monday.
Hayden LeFever led the Yellowjackets in scoring with nine points while Jordan Bellinger added seven points in the win.
Caris Hill and Riley France each had 11 points to lead C-R in the win.
Oneonta will host Waverly Tuesday.
Unadilla Valley 41, Oxford 30
The Unadilla Valley girls held off Oxford for a 41-30 home win Monday in MAC play.
Jaiden Schrag tallied a game-high 21 points to lead the Lady Storm while Adrienne Hodge pitched in nine points.
Leading Oxford in scoring were Jocie Finch with nine points and Ava Benjamin with eight points.
UV will host Harpursville Wednesday while Oxford will be at home against Greene the same day.
Worcester 46, Roxbury 32
Hailey Shalor's 30-point performance led Worctester to a 46-32 win over Roxbury on the road Monday.
Shalor made eight three-pointers in the win while Allison Boyle added eight points for the Wolverines.
Ryleigh Goodchild led the Rockets with nine points in the loss.
Worcester will host Richfield Springs Wednesday.
South Kortright 61, Margaretville 19
South Kortright jumped out to a 20-1 first-quarter lead Monday and never looked back in a 61-19 home win over Margaretville.
Addy Eckert registered a double-double of 34 points and 12 rebounds for the Rams while Madysen Reeves scored eight points, Carlee Dropp had five points, seven rebounds and six assists and Lauren Dengler had six points, 11 rebounds and four steals.
Ana Gavette was Margaretville's leading scorer with six points.
South Kortright will host Franklin Thursday.
Cherry Valley-Springfield 71, Roxbury 24 (Saturday)
Cherry Valley-Springfield defeated Roxbury 71-24 at home Saturday in non-league action.
Morgan Huff led the way with a game-high 18 points while Mia Dubben tallied 13 points and Daphnee West added 11 points in the win.
Ryleigh Goodchild had 13 points to lead Roxbury in the loss.
CV-S will visit Franklin Tuesday.
Edmeston/Morris 54, Franklin 38 (Friday)
Edmeston/Morris took down Franklin 54-38 on the road Friday in a Tri-Valley League contest.
Haylie Lund led E/M with 19 points in the win while Brenna Bolton and Molly Rifanburg scored 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Leading Franklin were Shannon Kingsbury with 13 points and Maddie Hyzer with eight.
Laurens/Milford 62, Sharon Springs 53 (Friday)
Delaney Maison's big game helped Laurens/Milford defeat Sharon Springs 62-53 in Tri-Valley League action Friday.
Maison poured in a game-high 35 points to lead L/M while Kara Mertz added nine points in the win.
Zarie Fassett scored 21 points to lead Sharon Springs while Lilly Tessier finished with 18.
Laurens/Milford will visit Schenevus Wednesday.
Greene outlasted Bainbridge-Guilford 41-34 Friday in overtime at home.
Claire Flanagan led the way with 11 points in the win.
Jayslin and Johnna Henderson each tallied 12 points for B-G in the loss.
Greene will visit Oxford Wednesday while B-G will host Greene in a rematch Friday.
