Conor McGregor wants to fight Conan O'Brien and Mark Wahlberg for their UFC shares
Conor McGregor suddenly retired back in March, but appeared to call it all off in April when he tweeted “see you in the Octagon” at his fans. But his return to the Octagon might not be what people expect.
His opponent might be Conan O’Brien.
There is no other Conan O’Brien. This isn’t a mix-up. We’re talking about the NBC and TBS late-night host and legendary “Simpsons” writer.
Why would McGregor, one of the most famous and successful fighters in UFC history, and O’Brien, a tall, skinny comedian who looks like he could be knocked over by a stiff breeze, engage in fisticuffs? It’s all about UFC shares.
McGregor has been trying and failing to get UFC president Dana White to sell him shares of the company. In fact, that might be part of the reason McGregor retired. O’Brien is one of the numerous celebrities and athletes who own shares in the UFC, and TMZ recently approached him about it.
Of course, O’Brien was joking when he said "I will fight him for his [share]... if he can take me in the Octagon!" Especially since fellow shareholder Mark Wahlberg recently told TMZ that he’s willing to sell McGregor some of his shares, no fight needed. But McGregor may just be itching for a fight, because he tweeted that he’d take on both of them for their shares.
Challenge accepted Conan!
I’ll whoop you and Walhberg in the same night.

Obviously neither of them stand a chance. Not even Wahlberg, who keeps himself in excellent shape. But there’s a difference between being “movie-star fit” and being an MMA fighter. Wahlberg’s got washboard abs, but they’re no match for McGregor’s, well, everything.
