Commissioner Roger Goodell to testify before Congress

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has accepted an invitation to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Commissioner Goodell will testify remotely before the Committee on Wednesday, June 22.

Mark Maske of The Washington Post broke the news on Wednesday evening:

Commissioner Goodell was invited to appear before the Committee back at the start of June, and the invitation was extended on behalf of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform as well as the House Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy. In the letter noting the hearing and asking the Commissioner to testify, it was noted that the hearing “…is the next step in the Committee’s months-long investigation into the [Washington] Commanders’ hostile workplace culture:”

As noted, Washington owner Daniel Snyder was also invited to testify. Earlier this week, Snyder informed the Committee that he would be unable to attend, as he will be out of the country on that date.
