Columbus Clippers win despite being held to 3 hits by St. Paul Saints

Sunday's game: Columbus 2, St. Paul 0

Recap: The Clippers registered just three hits, but collected two runs off of them, and that would be all they needed to win Sunday at Huntington Park. Bryan Lavastida was responsible for both runs. His groundout in the third scored Raynel Delgado. Lavastida followed that up by hitting a solo home run in the sixth. Columbus' Zach Plesac threw five innings of two-hit ball to improve to 4-4 on the season. Cody Morris pitched 3 ⅔ innings without giving up a hit, and then James Karinchak came in to record the final out for the save. St. Paul's scheduled starter, Brent Headrick, was called up by the Minnesota Twins right before the game, forcing the Saints to rely on four different relief pitchers to get them through the afternoon.
