Colts’ Michael Pittman absent from OTAs due to birth of child

The Indianapolis Colts wrapped up Week 1 of their OTA session on Thursday at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.

Of the more notable players who did not practice when the media was on hand included top wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

His reason? The birth of his second child.

“It’s a great excuse,” head coach Shane Steichen told reporters. “Fired up for him and his wife and all the best to them.”

While there were some notable absences due to injuries including star running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle), linebacker Shaquille Leonard (back) and rookie Josh Downs (knee), Pittman Jr. should be expected to return when the Colts get back on the field next week for their second set of OTA practices.
