Hamilton 21, Lakota East 0 - FINAL
Hamilton’s defense allowed just 271 total yards and forced four turnovers in a road shutout win over Lakota East Friday night to even its record on the year. The Big Blue got a big night from quarterback Antonio Mathis, who went 14-of-18 for 176 yards with touchdown tosses to Roemale Shephard-Ruffin and Na’sir Harper. Cournell Bennett-McCoy, who ran for 104 yards on 28 carries, capped the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run with 1:25 remaining in the game. Hamilton’s defense got interceptions from Marlon Reed, C.J. Bryant and Jailen Morris along with a fumble recovery from Bennett-McCoy. Elsewhere, Mason Holbrook had 1.5 sacks and Gracen Goldsmith led Hamilton with seven tackles and a sack.
Lakota East quarterback Jamison Kitna was 15-of-31 for 189 yards while Ryder Hooks led the Thunderhawks rushing attack with 59 yards. Zion Neal was the game’s leading receiver with 10 catches for 132 yards.

Middletown 20, Colerain 3 - FINAL
Middletown is one of just two GMC clubs (Princeton) sitting at 2-0 this season after a big second half Friday helped the Middies pull away from Colerain. The Cardinals led 3-0 at the half after a Luke McAfee 27-yard field goal, but Middletown’s defense permitted just 40 total yards and forced three turnovers.
Offensively, Middletown found the endzone three times in the second half after a slow start. Quarterback Jerimiah Landers gave Middletown the lead for good late in the third quarter on a 6-yard touchdown pass to Chandler Shields, who led all receivers with six catches for 67 yards. Landers, who threw for 110 yards, would run for 78 yards and two second-half touchdowns to seal it.
Colerain was led by running back Tristan Cornist, who ran for 47 yards. Defensively, Colerain defensive back Jayden Staley had an interception and a fumble recovery. Greg Williams forced a pair of fumbles and recovered one. For Middletown, Gabe Terrell had a pick and Tyler Patterson recovered the fumble he forced.

Sycamore 24, Fairfield 21 - FINAL
Sycamore, which went 0-10 a year ago, returned to winning ways in a big way in Week 2 by knocking off Fairfield on the road. Sycamore trailed 14-10 at halftime but built a 24-14 lead in the third quarter on Seth Truter’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Nick Branam and Chase Terrell’s 11-yard touchdown run. Branam also ran for a touchdown to start the scoring. Eugene Harney was the bell cow for the Aviators’ offense, running for 168 yards on 27 attempts.
Fairfield quarterback Talon Fisher threw touchdowns to Conner Moser in the first half and found Tyon Spiller for a 45-yard score in the fourth quarter to pull the Indians within three. Fisher ran for 83 yards on 13 attempts while running back Juseters Fataki had 12 carries for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Princeton 18, Lakota West 3 - FINAL
A pair of David Hambrick touchdown runs and a P.J. Nelson 15-yard pick-six in the second half helped Princeton hand Lakota West its first Greater Miami Conference loss since 2019. Lakota West led 3-0 at halftime after Brayden Benner’s 24-yard field goal, but Princeton’s defense would go onto allow only 126 total yards. Offensively, Princeton churned out 174 yards on the ground. Hambrick had 50 yards on 15 carries to go with two touchdowns and DeAngelo Birch went for 101 on 15 totes.
Princeton sophomore defensive back Andrew Wells tallied a game-high 12 tackles while defensive ends Khy’Lek Jarrett and Gino Nesmith each had 1.5 sacks. Brennan Remy led Lakota West’s offense with six catches for 49 yards. Jiovionni Wilson and Trey Barnette each had two catches for the Firebirds, combining for 72 yards.

West Clermont 33, Little Miami 14 - FINAL
Trailing 14-7 at the half, West Clermont turned to running back Bo Rickman to pull away in the second half. Rickman’s trio of third-quarter touchdown runs gave West Clermont a 26-14 lead going into the fourth quarter and Landon Young’s 2-yard touchdown run with 2:53 remaining sealed a win for the Wolves. Rickman and Young each crossed the century mark on the ground with Rickman running for 185 yards on 17 attempts and Young going for 103 on 16 totes. Young also opened the game’s scoring in the first quarter with a seven-yard touchdown catch from West Clermont quarterback Bryson Earley.
Little Miami built its halftime lead behind quarterback Case Miller, who threw a touchdown to Charlie McGuinness and ran for a 1-yard score to make it 14-7.

A big first half elevated Elder to its first win of the season Friday night as the Panthers opened up a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. Quarterback Ryan Brass was effective through the air and on the ground, throwing touchdowns to Josh Mirus and Drew Murphy in the first half and running for two touchdowns in the second half to help Elder pull away. Brass finished 11-of-18 for 180 yards and ran for a game-high 84 on 12 carries. Mirus led all receivers with seven catches for 101 yards and a score.
Defensively, Elder forced three turnovers with Joshua Dugan recovering a pair of fumbles and Max Stallmeyer jumping on another. Henry Heitz tallied two sacks for the Panthers. Elder will stay at home next week when it welcomes Springboro to The Pit.

The Wyoming Cowboys have not dropped a regular season contest since the ninth week of the 2015 season. With a Quaid Hauer and staunch defense, that streak continued onto its 69th game with the victory over Monroe which may have been the toughest test on the schedule in the early season. Wyoming goes to Aiken on Saturday, Sept. 2 to try and going 3-0 while moving the streak to 70 games.

Lem Grayson’s 1-yard touchdown run with 4:21 left in regulation was enough to lift Badin to its 30th consecutive regular-season victory. The Rams trailed 6-0 in the third quarter but rallied with 10 consecutive points to improve to 2-0 on the year. Senior kicker Nick Warner got the Rams on the board with a 41-yard field goal in the third quarter. Badin is now one victory away from matching a school record for most consecutive regular season wins. The Rams won 31 in a row from 1963-66.

With its running game churning out 6.2 yards per carry and its defense forcing three turnovers, Fenwick rolled over Talawanda Friday night to secure its third consecutive 2-0 start.
Fenwick ran for 230 yards on 37 carries with Connor Schmuelling (69 yards, three touchdowns) and Jordan Vann (67 yards, two touchdowns) leading the way. John Tanaka added a rushing score, as well and Vann had a 56-yard punt return touchdown. Fenwick’s defense allowed just 165 total yards and Cameron Hunter had an interception and a fumble recovery.
Talawanda running back Lance Cantrell ran for 61 yards and Brayden Douglas had four receptions for 40 yards.

Mariemont is 2-0 for the second time in three seasons after pulling away from Norwood Friday night. Warriors’ quarterback Charlie Tully threw for 128 yards but did most of his damage on the ground with 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 11 carries. Running back Max Duckwall ran for 58 yards and a score and Will Simms found the endzone from four yards out to help Mariemont go into halftime with a 21-0 advantage. Cooper Naticchioni had a 2-point conversion run and caught five balls for a game-high 80 yards. Mariemont’s defense did not record a turnover, but turned away Norwood on five fourth-down tries.
Norwood avoided the shutout on Amon Collins’ 8-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

The offense for the Cooper Jaguars was so potent against Henry Clay that Cooper also scored the only points the Blue Devils put on the board in the 42-2 decision. Cooper scored touchdowns on all six of its possessions in the first half, but fumbled and recovered in its own endzone on the first possession of the second half. With the running clock and still a 40-point lead, the harm was minimal. Jaguars quarterback Cameron O'Hara was an efficient 11-12 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair to Isaiah Jackson who had six catches in total for 98 yards. Keegan Maher had Cooper's final two scores and totaled 93 yards on the ground on seven rushes. On defense, Austin Alexander totaled two sacks while Alex Vogelpohl and Max Wethington added one each.

After finding the endzone a half dozen times last week, East Central’s Josh Ringer added a first-half hat trick Friday night as East Central cruised past Harrison, 42-7. Ringer had second-quarter touchdown runs of 35 and 43 yards on top of an 8-yard receiving score to help give the Trojans a 28-0 lead at the half. Quarterback Cole Burton threw for a touchdown and ran one in of his own. Ryan Minges capped the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. East Central’s defense got in on the scoring, too, with Brayden Rouse’s 21-yard pick-six in the first quarter.
Harrison avoided a shutout on quarterback Dickie Engel’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Luke Rogers in the third quarter. Engel threw for 104 yards and led the Wildcats on the ground with 71 yards on 13 attempts.
