Chris Kreider hat trick in 3rd period leads NY Rangers' epic comeback win: See all 3 goals

This was one for the ages.

Chris Kreider scored three straight goals − a natural hat trick − to lead an improbable New York Rangers' 5-3 comeback victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 6 to wrap up the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Rangers trailed 3-1 in the third period, but Kreider scored three times in a nine-minute span to give the Rangers a 4-3 lead. An empty netter in the final minute sealed it for New York.

Here's how it all unfolded:

Chris Kreider's hat trick vs Hurricanes in Game 6:

First goal, 6:43 of 3rd period: Hurricanes 3, Rangers 2

Second goal, 11:54 of 3rd period: Rangers 3, Hurricanes 3

Third goal, 15:41 of 3rd period: Rangers 4, Hurricanes 3

As TNT announcer Kenny Albert said, Kreider joins Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky as the only players in Rangers history to have hat trick in one period of a playoff game.
