Chip Kelly could be part of package deal with Dan Quinn for Seahawks
NFL teams are usually in a panic to fill any head coach vacancy, often filling open positions within just days of firing their last locker room leader. This year things are going differently, though. So far only two of the seven teams that had head coach openings at the end of the season have filled those jobs – with the Raiders and Patriots both promoting internally.
The rest of the field has been slow and deliberate in making these calls and it makes sesne given the abnormally high number of quality candidates in this coaching cycle. Seattle is currently going through a second round of interviews with five coordinators, including Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who appears to be the favorite.
If Quinn does come to Seattle he may not be coming alone. According to a report by Shane Hoffman at the Oregonian, Chip Kelly could be part of a package deal with Quinn. Hoffman followed up saying that Kelly would serve as offensive coordinator.
Hearing that not only is an NFL-return likely for former Oregon coach Chip Kelly, but that it could take the form of a "package deal" with Cowboys DC Dan Quinn.
The Seahawks are a likely destination.

Kelly would be OC. Could happen elsewhere without Quinn, too, of course. If not, however, he probably stays at UCLA.

Like Quinn, Kelly has plenty of experience as he was head coach of the Eagles from 2013-2015 after a successful four-year run with the Ducks. Recently he’s been part of a turnaround at UCLA, going 3-9 in his first year and improving steadily, posting at least eight wins in three straight seasons.
Anything can happen in the NFL, but we’d be surprised by this one.
