Which Chiefs and 49ers players will score a TD in Super Bowl 2024? Our 3 best bets

The betting breakdown for all things Super Bowl 58 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers continues with my annual column on who will score a touchdown on Super Bowl Sunday.

In Super Bowl 57, I nailed two of my three picks as both Eagles QB Jalen Hurts and Chiefs TE Travis Kelce found the end zone in the 73-point shootout last year in Arizona.

So who will it be this time around at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas? Here are my three best bets for an anytime touchdown scorer (ATTS) in Super Bowl 58:

1. Chiefs RB Isaiah Pacheco (-120)

The must-bet option of this group for me has to be Pacheco. The former Rutgers' standout running back has had a great second NFL season, improving his total touchdowns from five to nine and more than tripling his catches from 2022 as he hauled in 44 receptions this season.

Pacheco has had a nose for the end zone in recent weeks. The 24-year-old has scored in all three playoff games and in six of his last seven games dating back to the regular season.

A key part of this is that the 49ers have struggled to contain the running game this postseason. After surrendering 108 rushing yards to Packers RB Aaron Jones in the Divisional Round, San Francisco's defense then went on to give up 182 rushing yards on 29 carries to the Lions last weekend during the NFC Championship.

More importantly, Detroit scored three times on the ground in that game.

The price could be better, but I'd grab this one now and bet on Pacheco to score a touchdown in his second straight Super Bowl.

Bet365 has the best available odds for Pacheco at -120 (Bet $120 to win $100) to get in the end zone for Super Bowl 58.

2. Chiefs WR Rashee Rice (+150)

I went into full detail on Tuesday why I believe Rice is worth a flier for Super Bowl MVP as a 70/1 (+7000) longshot.

The sensational rookie wide receiver is one of only three players (Pacheco and Kelce) to score for the Chiefs in these playoffs.

Rice also joins Kelce as the only other players for Kansas City that have 20+ catches and at least 25 targets. The next highest is second string tight end Noah Gray, who has six catches on nine targets.

Just like the 49ers were taken advantage of on the ground, the Lions' top passing options also were able to have success against this defense. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown went for 87 receiving yards on seven catches and tight end Sam LaPorta finished with a team-high nine receptions and 97 yards.

There might be a surprise Chiefs player like Marquez Valdes-Scantling or Justin Watson that scores, but I'm confident that Patrick Mahomes will look Rice's way potentially either on a deep-ball touchdown or down in the red zone.

The go-to option to bet on Rice to score a touchdown is currently at +150 on PointsBet.

3. 49ers TE George Kittle (+185)

Switching to the 49ers side, running back Christian McCaffrey is a no-go due to his heavy price tag of -210 (Bet $210 to win $100).

When going down the list, there are three players that are jumbled in the mix with wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk (+162) and Deebo Samuel (+175), followed by tight end George Kittle at +185 (Bet $100 to win $185).

One of these weapons is going to score in Super Bowl 58 and I'm riding with Kittle.

While he only had two catches for 27 yards in the NFC title game, Kittle did a majority of his damage the weekend prior when he finished with four catches for 81 yards. The five-time Pro-Bowler scored the team's opening touchdown in San Francisco's 24-21 comeback win over the Packers.

However, Kittle's never been known for the huge touchdown production outside of the career-high 11 scores he had in 2022.

To me, this is easily the riskiest or smallest outcome of this group to happen during Super Bowl 58. With that being said, this vaunted Chiefs defense is going to allow one of these top 49ers targets to score, and my best bet with the longest odds is Kittle.

FanDuel Sportsbook is the place to currently bet on Kittle to score as he's at +185 on the board.
