Chase Edmonds could make list of top RBs with strong 2021 season

The Arizona Cardinals do not have one of the league’s top 11 running backs in the NFL but they believe they have a talented running back room with Chase Edmonds and James Conner.

Edmonds is expected to be the lead back and has been very good in the roles he has been given. They view him as a solid starting running back in the league.

He gets to prove that this year.

If there is a player to model for Edmonds, it is Tampa Bay’s Ronald Jones. He came in No. 11 in the running back rankings.

Becoming a first-time full-time starter, he rushed for 978 yards and seven touchdowns and had a total of 1,143 yards from scrimmage.

Edmonds had 448 rushing yards on only 97 rushing attempts. He also caught 53 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns, giving him 850 total yards from scrimmage, playing in only 46% of the Cardinals’ offensive snaps.

Edmonds will get the first shot to be the Cardinals’ primary back. He is in a contract year. If things go the way he believes they can, he might just find himself on next year’s top RB list, which means he will also be a wealthy young man.
