ALBANY, N.Y. — LSU women's basketball has made it to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season under head coach Kim Mulkey.
The No. 3 seed in the Albany 2 Regional this season, the Tigers (30-5) will face No. 2 UCLA (27-6) inside the MVP Arena on Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament.
LSU defeated No. 14 Rice, 70-60, to tip off March Madness last week inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center before rallying to rout No. 11 Middle Tennessee, 83-56, after trailing at halftime.
UCLA beat No. 15 California Baptist, 84-55, in the first round before edging out No. 7 Creighton, 67-63, in the second round to advance to the Sweet 16.
This is the second straight season the Bruins have reached the Sweet 16. They lost to No.1 South Carolina, 59-43, in Greenville, South Carolina in 2023.
