What channel is Florida vs. FGCU softball on today? Time, TV schedule for NCAA tournament game

Florida softball has seemingly hit its stride at the right time, as the Gators begin their quest to reach the Women's College World Series.

The Gators are seeking to continue a recent trend of winning the SEC tournament championship and advancing to the WCWS. The road back to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for Florida (46-12, 17-7 SEC) begins with in-state rival FGCU (37-19, 16-8 ASUN). The Gators and Osprey are scheduled for a noon ET first pitch to kick off the Gainesville Regional at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium.

In the past 16 of the 26 SEC Tournament winners have gone on to reach the WCWS, including each of the five previous times the Gators have won the tournament. The Gators ended the season with eight straight victories, led by SEC Player of the Year Jocelyn Erickson. Erickson finished with a .389 batting average, 12 home runs and 75 RBI while serving as the starting catcher and handling the youthful UF pitching staff. Korbe Otis (.467 average, 8 home runs), Skylar Wallace (.399, 13 home runs) and Reagan Walsh (.381, 16 home runs) were among the other Gators' standouts.

FGCU won four games in four days in the ASUN Conference Tournament to advance to the regional. The Osprey rely on Angelina Bonilla (15-5, 1.68 ERA, nine saves) and Allison Sparkman (12-4, 1.49 ERA) to lead it in the circle. FGCU stole 99 bases this season, led by Avery Viancos and Olivia Black, who had 19 steals each.

This will mark the 11th meeting of all time between both programs, with Florida leading the series 8-2. The Gators defeated the Osprey 9-0 in Fort Meyers on March 20. The Osprey defeated UF 2-1 in the 2012 Gainesville Regional, but the Gators were able to bounce back and advance with a 6-2 victory to eliminate FGCU.
