Central Michigan football dominates Robert Morris, 45-0, in home opener
MOUNT PLEASANT — Jacob Sirmon threw for three touchdowns, Dallas Dixon had two receiving scores and Central Michigan dominated Robert Morris 45-0 on Saturday.
It was Central Michigan’s first shutout since November 23, 2013, a 37-0 win over UMass.
Sirmon connected with Hunter Buczkowski for a 3-yard score and with JaCorey Sullivan for 24 yards to extend the Chippewas lead to 19-0 with 4:49 left before halftime. A little more than three minutes later, Daniel Richardson threw a 16-yard pass to Dallas Dixon for a 28-0 advantage.
The Chippewas (1-1) took the second-half kick and marched 68 yards in eight plays that ended with Sirmon throwing a 6-yard scoring pass to Dixon for a five-touchdown lead.
Lew Nichols III had 79 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown and Kalil Pimpleton tallied 58 yards with a touchdown for CMU.
Central Michigan outgained the Colonials (0-1), 515-109, in total yardage and held the ball for more than 35 minutes.

Western Michigan 28, Illinois State 0: La'Darius Jefferson had 106 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the host Broncos (1-1). Kaleb Eleby added 174 yards passing and a TD.

Bowie State (Md.) 28, Saginaw Valley State 19: Matt Considine had 124 yards passing, a touchdown and two interceptions for the visiting Cardinals (1-1), who were outgained, 410-178.
Davenport 10, Walsh (Ohio) 6: Jaler Harden's 17-yard touchdown run in the third quarter gave the visiting Panthers (1-1) the lead for good. Brendan Boman and Ian Tchangam each had sacks.
St. Thomas (Minn.) 12, Michigan Tech 9: Fred Kemp had a 38-yard punt return for a touchdown for the host Huskies (1-1). Jordan Janssen had nine catches for 79 yards.
Tiffin (Ohio) 40, Northwood 6: Nick Watson had 340 yards passing and a touchdown for host Tiffin (2-0). Bryant Kieft had four catches for 61 yards and TD for Northwood (0-2).
Truman (Mo.) 27, Wayne State 9: Josh Kulka had 221 yards passing for the host Warriors (0-2), who had three turnovers. Jake AmRhein had a 2-yard TD run.

Albion 51, Defiance (Ohio) 0: Jack Bush had 210 yards passing and three touchdowns for visiting Albion (2-0), who outgained Defiance, 550-119.
Coe (Iowa) 28, Hope 21: Chase Brown threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns for visiting Hope (1-1).
