Casey Thompson receives crystal ball prediction for TCU shortly after entering transfer portal

Just moments after entering his name in the NCAA transfer portal, there is already a prediction as to where former Texas quarterback Casey Thompson will end up.

The now former Longhorns quarterback, who had already entered his name into the transfer portal earlier in his career, did so again with the makings that this one will not end in him returning to Austin.

Minutes after Thompson’s name appeared in the transfer portal, a 247Sports crystal ball prediction was entered in favor of TCU for his next landing spot.

The difference between this transfer entry and the last was the fact that Sam Ehlinger had to leave eventually, and then Thompson would get his chance. However, after being the starter for all but two games last season, Thompson and the team did not have the season they would have liked. This led to Steve Sarkisian making a hard push for a transfer quarterback, and certainly got the one they wanted in five-star transfer/recruit Quinn Ewers.

Thompson likely saw the imminent writing on the wall, and like the rest of us assumed this is now Ewers’ team and will be until he decides to take his talents to the next level.

The former Longhorn looks like he could end up transferring within the Big 12 and just a little down the road to TCU to team up with new head coach Sonny Dykes who has experienced a ton of success with former transfer quarterbacks.
