Rodney Hudson to IR

Michael Chow-USA TODAY Sports

Hudson had been ruled out of the game early in the week. He suffered a rib injury that caused him to leave the game last weekend. Now he will have to miss at least three games. At minimum, he will miss the games against the Browns, Texans and Packers.

Max Garcia will start at center in the meantime and Sean Harlow becomes the backup center.

DE Zach Allen to COVID list

Michael Chow-USA TODAY Sports

Allen tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, one of the four positive tests from then. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury, quarterbacks coach Cam Turner and general manager Steve Keim all tested positive as well and did not take the trip to Cleveland.

Jordan Phillips, Josh Miles activated from IR

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Phillips will get to play for the first time this season. He started the season on injured reserve with a back injury that kept him out of most of training camp. It is perfect timing because of Allen’s positive test for COVID-19. He will likely be in the starting lineup.

Miles had been out with an ankle injury. He will return to be the backup tackle, as Justin Murray is currently on injured reserve. He will be active Sunday.

TE Ross Travis, OL Danny Isadora, LB Joe Walker elevated from practice squad

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Because Zach Ertz is not yet eligible to play, the Cardinals need a third tight end. For the second week in a row, Travis gets to play. He will see a few snaps with Darrell Daniels and Demetrius Harris getting the bulk of the time at the position. He was a standard elevation.

Isidora is needed because the Cardinals only have seven linemen on the active roster, and teams are expected to have eight active for game days. With Max Garcia starting at center, Josh Miles will be the backup tackle, Isidora will be the backup guard and Sean Harlow will be the backup center. He was elevated as a COVID-19 replacement.

Walker was signed this week and elevated as a COVID-19 replacement. He will likely fill the role that Zeke Turner had on special teams. Turner was placed on injured reserve this week.

TE Richard Rodgers released from practice squad

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Rodgers was signed earlier this week. With the trade for Ertz, he is no longer needed. He was released from the practice squad.
