Cam Taylor-Britt makes things at CB interesting for Bengals after debut

Cincinnati Bengals rookie cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt finally got to make his NFL debut during Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Falcons.

The second-rounder got more time than expected and impressed, too.

CTB played 28 snaps to Eli Apple’s 16 in his first NFL action since sitting out this summer due to core surgery. And word is game flow simply dictated how much time he saw.

“We wanted to work Cam in there,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “He’s a player who, when he’s practiced for us, he’s done a really good job, made a strong impression, and it’s time to start working him in on special teams and some on defense as well.”.

The Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway caught the vibe from the rookie himself, too:

Maybe the plan going into the game was to ease CTB into things. But a massive blowout (never mind Apple getting burnt for a touchdown) was a prime chance to get a rookie live-game reps without major risk and the team capitalized.

Based on what he flashed, fans should be seeing more of CTB, quickly.
