Phew, what a game! Burnley break that losing streak, much to the sheer joy of the home fans. After Brentford went down to 10 men in no time and Burnley went 1-0 up, it seemed as if the Bees were in for a long day. They went 2-0 down after Fofana added to his impressive run with another goal. But Brentford kept ticking away and an Ajer header brought them right back in the game. After losing a 2-0 lead just last week, Burnley looked shaky again and almost gave away the equaliser, but a bit of luck went their way as Toney's goal was disallowed. The Clarets hung on for a 2-1 win and had an xG of 2.66 to Brentford's 1.07. Fofana led the charge with a 1.06 xG, while Toney had an off day with an xG of 0.48. Burnley stay in 19th place ahead of facing Chelsea after the international break. For Brentford, however, this was a huge missed opportunity to get some breathing space in the relegation battle. They stay in 15th place but just four points above relegation before facing Manchester United in two weeks.
