Buffalo Bills co-owner Kim Pegula dealing with 'unexpected health issue'

In a statement put out by the Pegula family Tuesday morning, Kim Pegula is dealing with a medical issue and has been receiving treatment since last week.

It was termed an "unexpected health issue" and the news was delivered to the employees of Pegula Sports and Entertainment Tuesday morning.

The statement read:

"Kim Pegula is receiving medical care as a result of some unexpected health issues. We are very grateful for the progress she has made over the past few days. She has an exceptional team of medical experts at her side. We ask that you keep Kim and our family in your prayers and ask that you respect our need for privacy."

The 53-year-old Pegula, who grew up in Fairport, New York after being adopted as an orphan from South Korea, is the wife of Terry Pegula, and together the Pegulas bought the Buffalo Sabres in 2011 and the Bills in 2014.

The issue she is dealing with is unknown, and neither the Pegula family nor the Bills are going to speak about it. It is unknown whether Pegula is in the hospital or being treated at home, nor whether she is in Buffalo or at the family’s home in Florida.
