Browns make 4 roster moves including placing Conklin on IR

The Cleveland Browns stayed active with their roster on Tuesday of their bye week with four roster moves. The biggest roster move was placing starting right tackle on the injured reserve. The step was obvious after the team announced Conklin was having season-ending surgery on a torn patella tendon.

Continuing with the subtractions, the Browns released running back Brian Hill from their practice squad. With the team’s top four running backs healthy and John Kelly back on the practice squad, Hill was not needed.

Cleveland also brought back two players that were released last week. Offensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt and defensive lineman Joe Jackson were signed to the team’s practice squad.

The Browns currently have an open roster spot on their active 53-man roster and it is possible that Froholdt could take the spot since it was vacated by Conklin. Cleveland could also look outside of the organization to fill that spot during their bye week.

While the Browns playoff hopes are dwindling, Andrew Berry and the front office won’t stop making moves they believe in the best interest of the team.
