Bronze medal winner Robert Johansson has a gold medal mustache
Robert Johansson won bronze in ski jumping Saturday in PyeongChang, but the Norwegian’s facial hair is worthy of the gold.
Johansson bronze-winning performance in the normal hill individual event is certainly worthy of praise, but he drew more attention for the glorious handlebar mustache he sported during competition.
Just look at this beauty:
He even twisted the corners exquisitely. The attention to detail is something to admire.
Johansson, who is making his Olympic debut, treats his mustache with plenty of care on a daily basis.
“I have to because it’s getting quite long now,” the 27-year-old said per USA Today. “So I use wax and everything. I even have my own comb for the mustache.”
The mustache undoubtedly assisted with Johansson’s aerodynamism when he reeled off one of the highest-scoring jumps of the event on his second attempt when he traveled a whopping 113.5 meters. That jump earned him a spot on the medal stand behind countryman Johann Andre Forfang (silver) and Germany’s Andreas Wellinger, who won the gold.
Johansson will return to action on Friday in the large hill individual competition. All eyes will be on that mustache.
