Bronson tennis upends Onsted

The Bronson tennis team picked up its second win of the season on Wednesday.

The victory came over Onsted, 5-3. Bronson won three of the four singles matches on the day.

At first singles, Kayden Alli picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Caitlin Tessier. Second singles action saw Cheyanne Villisan beat Elizabeth Erway 6-3, 6-3 while in third singles play, Nuranzun Dawuadorj beat Onsted's Genna Zellen 6-0, 6-1.

Onsted got a win at third singles from Bianca Miller, she beat Aubree Wyant 6-3 and 6-4.

Bronson won two of four doubles matches. Onsted won the top two.

At first doubles, the team of Sara Schlueter and Bre England beat Bronson's Samantha Francom and Aleah Brackett with scores of 6-2 and 6-2. Second doubles saw Madi Sniegowski and Emilie LaBrie beat Lorelei Sisco and Ella Ramsey with scores of 6-1 and 6-2.

Bronson won at third and fourth doubles. Third doubles saw Ines Boedo and Kailee Meyers win by default in the second set. Fourth doubles saw Hailey Francom and Leung Jung win by default in the second set as well.

Lakeview tops Sturgis

Sturgis dropped a 6-2 decision to Battle Creek Lakeview in prep tennis action on Wednesday. The defeat puts Sturgis' dual meet record at 5-5 for the season.

The Trojans won one match in singles play. Gracie Perry won over Emmy Ruger with scores of 6-4 and 6-0.

Sturgis also won one doubles match, it came at second dubs. There, the team of Ava Stewart and Katherine Steele beat Karlee Gutsue and KaiLani Etheridge with scores of 6-2 and 7-6 (6).

In first singles action, Sade Blackwell won over Rylee Carver in straight sets at 6-1 and 6-0. Rebecca Lin beat Hannah Richie at second singles, Caitlyn Miller beat Marlee Smith at third singles. Each of those matches ended in scores of 6-0, 6-0.

Lakeview won three of four doubles matches.

The team of Mallory Kowalski and Annabelle Minneman beat Madison Golden and Johanna Rooyakkers with scores of 6-2 and 6-0 at first doubles. In third doubles play, the team of Ashley Thawmluai and Dawt Sung won over Sturgis' group of Rosa Soto and Bella Currier 6-1, 6-0. Fourth doubles saw Alina Murata and Abigail Winer pick up a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Lauren Whitehead and Chloe Clark of Sturgis.
