Broncos WR Tim Patrick carted off practice field

Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick appeared to suffer a right leg injury during Tuesday’s practice session and was carted off the field.

Patrick made a leaping catch during team drills and then “went down after making first cut,” according to The Denver Post‘s Ryan O’Halloran. The team gathered around Patrick after the injury before the cart came out.

After being carted from the field to the team’s facility, Patrick did not put weight on his right leg “as he was helped into trainer’s room,” according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Patrick, 28, is entering his fifth season with the Broncos. He’s emerged as one of the team’s top receivers over the last two years, catching 104 passes for 1,476 yards and 11 touchdowns from 2021-2022. Patrick just signed a three-year, $30 million contract extension with Denver last November.

The Broncos won’t know the severity of Patrick’s injury until after the receiver undergoes testing. While Patrick is sidelined, Denver’s remaining top receivers will be Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler.
