Broncos QB Russell Wilson healthy enough to start on Sunday vs. Jaguars in London

All those high knees on the flight over to England apparently paid off for Russell Wilson.

Wilson, who missed last week's game for the Denver Broncos due to a hamstring injury, will return on Sunday, according to coach Nathaniel Hackett.

The Broncos reported that Wilson had a full practice on Friday. Hackett told the media in London that Wilson would start against the Jacksonville Jaguars — barring a setback.

The Broncos have a bye next week, but Hackett said there was no thought to holding him out one more week to give him extra rest.

"You talk to Russ and mention that, it's not a great discussion," Hackett told the media with a laugh. "In the end, if he can go, we want him to be able to play."

The Broncos' 2-5 record doesn't give them much room to be patient, either.

Part of the Broncos' struggles, of course, are related to Wilson's play. He has not been good for the Broncos after a huge offseason trade that energized the team's fanbase. That energy turned negative early in the season. Wilson has an 83.4 passer rating, by far the worst of his career. Broncos fans have been calling for Hackett to be fired, even though he's just seven games into his first season.

It hasn't helped that the Broncos have been featured on prime time in multiple games early in the season, exposing a national audience to their struggles. They will be playing in another standalone spot early Sunday morning from London.

Maybe this game will be better for Wilson and the Broncos. If not, it'll be a long flight home.
