Brett Maher has to nail 60-yard field goal twice to close first half for Cowboys

Brett Maher’s leg got a workout in the last five seconds of the first half of the Dallas Cowboys game with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Maher kicked a 60-yard field goal to apparently close the half and give Dallas a 23-3 lead.

However, after a delay the play before the kick was being reviewed.

CeeDee Lamb made a fantastic catch on the sidelines.

After Maher kicked the field goal, the officials said the previous play was under review.

While the catch stood, the field goal didn’t and Maher had to again attempt to up his career mark to 4-for-4 on field goals of 60 yards or longer.

No problem. The first attempt barely hooked inside the upright. The second was drilled straight and true. right down the middle.

The Cowboys led the 8-1 Vikings 23-3 at the break.
