Boston’s Jayson Tatum ranked top small forward in NBA for 2023-24

All-NBA Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has climbed the mountain top to reach the peak of small forwards in the league according to a new assessment of the state of the position heading into the 2023-24 season written by HoopsHype’s Frank Urbina. Per the H/H analyst, Tatum is the No. 1 small forward in the Association, beating out Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant.

“Could 2023-24 be the year Tatum and the Celtics get over that final hump and bring home the team’s first championship since 2007-08?” asks Urbina in his breakdown of the St. Louis native. “Tatum looks like he’s right on the cusp of being good enough to be able to lead a team to a championship.”

“It’s just about cleaning up minor things like his ball handling and shot selection before he takes that final step.”

With positional dominance evidently sewn up at least in the eyes of some NBA analysts, winning it all is the natural next step to cementing his position as the best player in the league.
