BNC, NUIC football standings and stat leaders: Le-Win's RB goes over 1,000 yards rushing

Le-Win's Gage Dunker breaks away on a long run in the first quarter of their game on Friday, Sep. 29, 2023 in Pecatonica.

After further review, Lena-Winslow's star running back Gage Dunker really wound up with 364 yards rushing on 39 carries while scoring five touchdowns during the Panthers' 48-27 win over rival Durand/Pecatonica last Friday. He was originally given 355 yards on 38 carries, but film study revealed another rush.

No matter, Dunker is still leading the area in rushing and is the only Rockford-area back to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing already, and he has done it with only 108 carries.

Durand/Pecatonica quarterback Cooper Hoffman had a strong game in the Rivermen's first loss last week, and he went over 1,000 yards passing on the year, joining Rockford Christian's Jaden Williams, who got there last week, and North Boone's Jack Christensen, who also got there this past Friday.

Through the first six weeks of action, here are the BNC and NUIC standings, this week's game schedule, and the rushing, passing and receiving leaders.
