It’s November, which means it’s also “Movember,” the month-long mustache-growing campaign designed to raise funds for and increase awareness of men’s health issues.
The NHL has been an active participant in Movember for years, because it’s basically just a more well-manicured playoff beard in the end. This season, they’ve partnered with Visa Canada for a pretty cool social interactive campaign involving a few players.
Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins, Duncan Keith of the Chicago Blackhawks and James van Riemsdyk and Jonathan Bernier of the Toronto Maple Leafs made cheeky little commercials promoting Movember.
Here’s the cool part: The videos are customizable.
Mo Bros can create their own video, meme and audio message at movember.com/hockeytools. Participants can simply upload their photo to quickly generate a 45 second commercial, a meme or an audio message featuring Bergeron, Bernier, van Riemsdyk or Keith, creating an easy fundraising tool that can be shared with friends and family.
[Please Note: The Hockey Tools go live on Thursday, Nov. 4]
Here’s a look at the ads, which are funny in their own right:
and Jonathan Bernier.
So we're all in agreement that the Movember jerseys are supposed to remind us of the BuffaSlug, right? Because if so ... well, that's worth a donation right there.
