Kevin Sumlin says Speedy Noil expected to rejoin team soon

Wide receiver Speedy Noil's absence from the Texas A&M football team is expected to end next week.

According to coach Kevin Sumlin, Noil "has some things to complete" and he hasn't practiced this week because of a disciplinary issue. Noil also didn't dress out for Saturday's scrimmage and according to AggieYell.com, his absence is not related to his grades or any law-breaking incidents.

"Speedy Noil has some things he has to complete," Sumlin said via AggieYell. "We had a discussion a week ago Monday. He will be back this week and we have asked him to do some things, and while he is doing that he has been away from the program ...  He is doing what we asked him to do. There is more to it than just football. Guys mature at different times. and sometimes you have to put things in place to make sure guys understand what is expected of them. Sometimes when you take football away from them, and get them away from the team a little bit, the point is made. I would look for him to be back sometime this week."

Noil, a freshman in 2014, had 46 catches for 583 yards and five touchdowns. He was a five-star recruit in the class of 2014 and the No. 3 wide receiver in the country.
