Billy Richmond III, Camden High School to play in Memphis Hoopfest in January

Billy Richmond III is coming back to Memphis in January.

Chan Douglas, the event organizer for the annual Memphis Hoopfest, confirmed to The Commercial Appeal that Richmond and Camden High School (New Jersey) will be part of this year's basketball showcase. Richmond is a five-star prospect and No. 2-ranked player in New Jersey, per 247Sports Composite.

He is ranked the No. 5 shooting guard in the country and the No. 23-ranked overall player in the nation.

Richmond played his first two years of high school at Memphis East before transferring to Camden last season. He trimmed his list of candidates to four schools in October: Memphis, Kentucky, Alabama and LSU.

Former Memphis East forward Alijah Curry also plays with Richmond at Camden. He transferred after last season.

The Memphis Hoopfest is an annual showcase featuring local matchups as well as national teams coming to the Bluff City. Games confirmed include Camden at Houston on Jan. 5; Whitehaven vs. Camden on Jan. 6 at Bartlett; and Cordova at Bartlett on Jan. 5.

Other teams in the Memphis Hoopfest include Briarcrest, Overton, Lausanne and AZ Compass Prep, which has the No. 42 player in the country, per 247Sports Composite, in Vyctorius Miller.
