Bills safety Damar Hamlin ejected for hit on Patriots' Jakobi Meyers

The Buffalo Bills were cruising to a win over the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. Then they suffered a loss of one of their players.

Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin was disqualified for a hit on New England wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

Patriots' quarterback Mac Jones threw for Meyers across the middle of the end zone. Meyers leaped for the ball with safety Jordan Poyer defending behind him. Hamlin lowered his shoulder and collided with Meyers. The impact jarred the ball loose, saving a touchdown, but Hamlin was called for unnecessary roughness for a hit on a defenseless receiver and was ejected.

Meyers walked off the field after the play, was taken to the blue medical tent and then to the locker room.

There have been 10 ejections in the NFL this year, three of which involved the Bills.

Buffalo defensive end A.J. Epenesa was ejected for making contact with an official in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Green Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker was ejected for shoving Bills practice squad tight end Zach Davidson on the sideline after a play in Week 8.
