JARED QUAY: We've got some NBA playoff action for you for Tuesday, June 8. Our first game is the Atlanta Hawks traveling to Philly to take on the Sixers. The Sixers are favorites by five points, with the over-under at 222.5. Atlanta is 14 and 6 against the spread in its last 20 games against Philadelphia, and the total is on over in 7 of Philly's last 8 games.
In game 1, the Hawks started the game 14 of 18 made shots. They were up by 20 at halftime and only won by 4. I think that the second half of that game showed what this game will look like. I like Philly to dominate, control, and win by more than 5.
To the West Coast we go where the Los Angeles Clippers are traveling to Salt Lake City to take on the Jazz. The Jazz are favorites by three and a half, with the over-under at 220.5. The Clippers are 3 and 9 against the spread in their last 12 games against Utah, and the Jazz are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last seven games.
220.5 seems a little high for me for game 1. I kind of want to fill this series out and see how it goes. So I'm leaning towards the under in game 1 as I like the defenses of both sides.
