Benton’s Tracey Rambin honored; Shreveport- area top performers for March 18-23

Benton softball coach Tracey Rambin found out Friday night that she will be inducted into the 2024 class of the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Rambin was informed of the honor by LSCA Hall of Famers Wade Strother and Greg Frazier prior to the Lady Tigers’ contest against Ruston in the Calvary Tournament. She will join former Sacred Heart coach Robert Davenport and former Eunice coach Scott Deshotel during the May 11 banquet in Pineville during the LSCA All-Star weekend.

During her career at Mansfield, Airline and Benton, Rambin has compiled a 399-229 record and advanced 15 teams to the playoffs with one LHSAA semifinal team. She will retire from coaching in May after 33 seasons.

Kynzee Anderson, Calvary: Anderson ran her record to 15-1 with a shutout of Jena that included 8 strikeouts.

Summer Brumley, Converse: Brumley was 2 for 3 with a double in a win.

Mallory Carver, Calvary: Carver hit a home run in a win.

Avery Creech, Logansport: Creech posted 8 strikeouts and ran her record to 10-2 in a win.

Dylan Defee, Benton: Defee went 2 for 4 and pitched all 9 innings in a win.

Emersyn Disotell, Benton: Disotell went 4 for 3 with two doubles and a home run in a win over Haughton.

Abbie Kate Forrest, Logansport: Forrest was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs in a win.

Elena Heng, Airline: Heng went 3 for 4 with two home runs and 7 RBIs in a win over Southwood and Heng went 3 for 4 against Evangel.

Lainey Lafitte, Benton: Lafitte delivered a game-winning double in a 4-3 win over Haughton.

Jaleigh Leone, Zwolle: Leone went 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs in a win.

DJ Lynch, Calvary: Lynch blasted two home runs in a 10-0 win over Jena.

Avery Prine, Converse: Prine posted 13 strikeouts in a win over Parkway.

Kourtney Sepulvado, Zwolle: Sepulvado picked up the win and was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a home run in a win.

Loren Sivils, Calvary: Sivils hit a home run in a win.

Kennedi Smith, Logansport: Smith was 2 for 2 with a home run and 7 RBIs in a win.

Baseball

Aubrey Hermes, Calvary: Hermes went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a walk in a 2-1 win over Evangel.

Tristen Hopper, North DeSoto: Hopper had a 2-RBI double in a 5-2 win.

Blayne McFerren, North DeSoto: McFerren went 2 for 3 and scored two runs in a 5-2 win.

Landon Smith, Calvary: Smith pitched 8 innings allowing 4 hits and one earned run against ECA.
