Bengals' Twitter marvels at rumor about Justin Jefferson, Joe Burrow's girlfriend, Kroger

It's tough to track down the exact origin of a rumor Tuesday about Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson and a blockbuster trade to the Cincinnati Bengals, but it apparently involved someone who works at Kroger with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's girlfriend, Olivia Holzmacher.

It seemed laughable to many on social media, even if Burrow, Jefferson and Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase played together with the LSU Tigers and remain close.

But it was enough for the Bengals' Twitter account to laugh it off with a tweet about "my friend at Kroger" rumors and the wild nature of free agency, and "Up and Adams" host and Bengals superfan Kay Adams actually asked Jefferson about it:

Jefferson wore a "Bayou Trio" sweatshirt featuring himself, Burrow and Chase during pregame warmups ahead of the Bengals' overtime win against Minnesota in December.

Jefferson had seven catches for 84 receiving yards against Cincinnati.
