Bengals sign first-rounder Price

First-round pick Billy Price signed his rookie contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, the club announced Monday.

Price was the 21st overall pick in the 2018 draft, and landed a four-year deal with a fifth-year team option covering the 2022 season. The four-year deal is worth around $10 million.

Price sustained a partially torn pectoral during bench press drills at the NFL Scouting Combine on March 1, but following surgery, Price's surgeon sent a letter to all 32 NFL teams with a projection for a full recovery in no more than two months.

Price said he felt a pop on the left side of his chest during his third rep with the 225-pound bench. He immediately set the bar on the rack and walked off the stage. Price was evaluated by the Indianapolis Colts' medical staff and he said MRI results reviewed the following morning showed that it was not a complete tear.

A four-year starter and two-time All-American for the Buckeyes, Price played left guard, right guard and center.
