Atlanta Braves legend and Grammy Award-winning artist to throw out NLDS first pitches

An Atlanta Braves legend and a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter are slated to throw the ceremonial first pitches for the first games of the NLDS in Atlanta, according to a release from the MLB.

Andruw Jones, whose No. 25 jersey was retired by the Braves in September, will throw out the first pitch on Saturday ahead of game 1. Jones was a 10-time Gold Glove winner in 12 seasons with the Braves.

Jason Isbell will throw out the first pitch on Monday. Isbell plays a show in Chattanooga the night before his Atlanta appearance and then he and his band, the 400 Unit, will play a sold-out eight-show residency at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville beginning Oct. 12.

In reference to the announcement, Isbell, who routinely talks about his love of the Braces on social media, posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "They call me the Redneck Rivera"

Isbell also posted on X that his wife, singer-songwriter Amanda Shires, will also be in attendance.

The Braves will play the winner of the best-of-three wildcard series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins. Game times for the divisional series round have not been announced.

Atlanta finished the regular season with a 104-58 record, winning a sixth consecutive National League East Division title. Star Ronald Acuna Jr. is a favorite to win the Most Valuable Player award after posting an unprecedented season with 41 home runs, 71 stolen bases and 106 RBI.
