Arizona Diamondbacks blend some tradition into new uniforms for 2024 season

The Arizona Diamondbacks dropped new uniforms for the 2024 season and beyond, and the fans are getting what they've been clamoring for.

The new uniforms incorporate designs and colors from the original DBacks uniforms and color schemes (1998 to 2006), as well as sticking with most current primary colors and wordmark design. A large portion of the DBacks fanbase has been aching for the old colors that the Snakes originally had, and also has been aching for the type of pennant-winning baseball that the team played this year. Now, the uniforms cross between the best of both worlds.

There will be four uniforms, and as for the home uniform, it shares the 'Off-White' color that the '98 home threads implemented. Also, it will include the traditional Diamondbacks "A" logo back on the home jersey, which had been missing since the changes in 2007. Finally, teal will outline the "A."

Teal was a popular primary color, along with purple, in the original DBacks' uniforms and it came back with further uniform changes heading into the 2016 season.

Teal was not, however, on the team's most recent uniforms. President, CEO and General Partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks -- Derrick Hall -- knew the fans wanted the color and these older elements incorporated into the new uniforms through focus groups and surveys.

As for the caps, the Sedona Red "A" logo caps with the Black brims will still be an option to pair with this uniform, but the logo will be outlined in teal. An all Black cap with a Black brim with the Sedona Red "A" logo will also be an option for the home threads, with teal outlining on that "A" logo as well.

The Road Grays are of course the same gray color from the most recent uniforms, and still have "Arizona" written in full across the chest. That "Arizona" will be outlined in teal this time, and there's baseball piping implemented on the jersey as there is for the home jerseys. The most exciting difference, however, is the cap that will be worn with the Road Grays.

It will be a Black cap with a brim that's Sedona Red, and the logo will be the vintage 'D-Snake' logo that the team wore from 1998 through 2006. The D-Snake will of course be red with a teal outline.

Two alternate uniforms were released in this uniform drop. The Sedona Red Alternates spell out "Diamondbacks" across the chest. The full "Diamondbacks" wordmark has not been used across the team's jerseys since those original uniforms from 1998 to 2006.

While the jerseys are of course Sedona Red, the wordmark is colored Black with teal outlining. Another nice twist for these uniforms is that the players' numbers are displayed on the front instead of just the back. The caps for these can be either the Black ones with the Sedona Red D-Snake and Sedona Red brim worn with the Road Grays, or a Sedona Red cap along with a Sedona Red brim that features a Black D-Snake outlined in teal.

The other alternate uniforms are Black. Black alternates have been part of the DBacks uniform mix since the franchise was born. These ones have the Sedona Red "A" logo on the front, specifically on the left side of the chest, and the logo is outlined with teal again on this one.

As for the caps, they will be all Black with Black brims and a Sedona Red "A" logo with teal outlining. Both alternate uniforms can be worn at home on the road, so Off-White pants or Road Gray pants can be worn with these two alternate sets.

The Diamondbacks won the National League this past season, so the excitement for the club around the Valley hasn't been higher in decades.

It would be difficult to find a better time to release new threads that pair the current excitement in the team with memorable past tradition than right now.
