Arizona Cardinals remove film study clause from Kyler Murray’s contract

In a move that is sure to put to rest the ongoing firestorm, the Arizona Cardinals removed the film study clause from Kyler Murray’s contract extension.

The decision comes after days of coverage over the Addendum contained within Murray’s five-year contract extension. As was first noted by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Murray’s contract extension contained an Addendum that required four hours of “independent film study” each week from the quarterback, once the regular season began.

Murray called a surprise press conference on Thursday, calling the coverage of the clause and the fallout “disrespectful.”

Perhaps this puts the story to bed.

At least until Murray throws his first interception of the season…
