Arbitration decision on Detroit Red Wings' Tyler Bertuzzi coming soon

A salary decision is imminent on Tyler Bertuzzi and the Detroit Red Wings.

An arbitrator agreed upon by the NHL and NHLPA has been mulling the case since a hearing Sunday after the Wings filed a brief at $3.15 million and Bertuzzi’s side landed at $4.25 million.

Bertuzzi, 25, is coming off a two-year, $2.8 million deal. He has scored 21 goals two straight years. He and Anthony Mantha are the two most prominent restricted free agents general manager Steve Yzerman has to sign.

By filing for arbitration, Bertuzzi locked himself into a one-year deal. He will be restricted again in 2021.
