Announcing The Enquirer's Greater Cincinnati Winter All-Stars for 2023-2024
With another winter high school sports season officially in the books, The Cincinnati Enquirer presents the 2023-2024 Winter All-Stars, also known as the all-city teams.
On the wrestling mat, four boys wrestlers won state titles, headlined by Eugene Harney's second straight gold medal. Chloe Dearwester cemented her status as one of the best wrestlers in state history with a fourth state title.
Loveland's Elizabeth Madison is now a two-time state champion, having gone 81-1 over the past two seasons.In the pool, St. Xavier started a new state team title winning streak by going back-to-back and winning its 44th overall championship. The Mason girls also secured their fourth runner-up finish at the state level.
Here are the Enquirer's all-city performers for the winter season. The boys and girls basketball lists were released separately on April 24.

Archer of the Year
Jacob Klette, Ryle – He finished fourth in the Region 6 tournament with 288 to lead a deep Raiders team to the regional championship, then shot 285 in the state tournament to help the Raiders finish second. He also shot 291 at the NASP state tournament.

Tanner Iles, Oak Hills – He had the top average in the city at 218.8 and was the Greater Miami Conference player of the year. He finished fourth in the sectional tournament, 15th in the district tourney and 68th at state while leading the Highlanders to league and sectional titles.

Thackston McMullan, St. Xavier ‒ The senior capped off his high school career by winning state and regional titles in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle and the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. The multi-time All-American and University of California commit won nine state titles in his high school career and contributed to three team state titles.
Diver of the year
Noah Horwitz, Anderson ‒ The sophomore won the sectional title with 488.10 points, the district title with 491.20 points and was 12th at the state championships after scoring 437 points.
Coach of the year
Dave Albert, St. Xavier ‒ He led the Bombers to a second straight team state championship. They scored 302 points to clear second place by 73 points. It is the Bombers' 44th state title.

Arjun Velayutham, Indian Hill ‒ The Cincinnati Hills League swimmer of the year recorded four top-five finishes at district and state. He took third in the 500-yard freestyle and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle at state and helped the Braves win the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay at district.

Uziah Groh, Indian Hill ‒ The freshman took fourth place in the sectional and district meets in his first year of varsity diving. He also made the CHL first team for his efforts.

Chase Knopf, Ryle ‒ The sophomore won the 200-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke at regionals, and helped the Raiders to a 400-yard freestyle relay runner-up finish. At the state meet, he took third in the 200-yard freestyle and ninth in the 100-yard backstroke while helping the 200-yard freestyle relay to a fifth-place finish and the 400-yard freestyle relay to a sixth-place finish.
Diver of the year
Landon Isler, Ryle ‒ After finishing the state preliminary and semifinal rounds in second place, he mounted a comeback in the final rounds to give Ryle its first state diving title. Isler finishes with a score of 554.15. He also took second place at the regional meet with 533.15 points.
Coach of the year
Jeff Floyd, Ryle ‒ He led the Raiders to a regional team title, scoring 516 points. The Raiders then took third place at the state meet with 177 points, narrowly missing out on second place.

Bella Teply, Mason ‒ The sophomore was a Greater Miami Conference first-team honoree before winning the 200- and 500-yard freestyle races at districts and swimming on the second-place 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. She took second place in all four events at the state meet.

Natalie Reising, Anderson ‒ The senior finished third at sectionals before winning the district competition with 416.70 points. She finished 12th at state.

Josie Festa, Indian Hill ‒ The senior comfortably won the sectional and district titles before finishing fourth overall at state, scoring 391.30 points.

Don Rielag, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy ‒ He was the Miami Valley Conference Co-Coach of the Year and led the Eagles to a fifth-place finish at state. With 130 points, CHCA was the only team from Cincinnati to score over 100 points.

Peytton Moore, Cooper ‒ The senior ended her high school career as a five-time regional champion and three-time state champion. She defeated Madison Southern's Reagan Patterson by 0.45 points at the state meet.

Jeff Floyd, Ryle ‒ He led the Raiders to a tie for first in the regional team standings. They took third place at state, scoring 140.5 points to improve on their seventh-place finish in 2023. When added to the boys score of 177 points, the Raiders won the combined team title.
