Alabama basketball picks up former West Virginia forward Mohamed Wague from transfer portal

Alabama basketball picked up another transfer addition on Wednesday, former West Virginia forward Mohamed Wague.

The announcement came via Twitter and Tipton Edits.

Wague is entering his junior year this fall for the Crimson Tide. He averaged 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in his one year with the Mountaineers. He shot 74.2% from the field in 28 games before suffering a right foot injury that saw him miss the rest of the year.

He came to West Virginia as a JUCO transfer, spending one year at Harcum College in Pennslyvania. He led the nation in offensive rebounds and total rebounds while being third in blocked shots.

Wague will join an incoming forward group of freshmen Sam Walters, Mouhamed Dioubate, Kris Parker and Jarin Stevenson. They will join junior Nick Pringle to form the frontcourt for a new-look Crimson Tide after the draft departures of Noah Clowney and Charles Bediako, who went undrafted.
