Alabama baseball walked off by Florida in extra innings in SEC Tournament
HOOVER — Alabama baseball almost upset top-seeded Florida, 6-3 in extra innings in the SEC Tournament at the Hoover Met but allowed four runs in the 11th to be walked off by the Gators.
Tommy Seidl had the go-ahead three-RBI double in the top of the 11th but Florida walked Alabama off with a three-runn home run by BT Riopelle.
Alabama will await the loser of Auburn and Vanderbilt on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide will play around 12:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network, it will start 35 minutes after the conclusion of South Carolina and Texas A&M.
The Gators started the scoring in the first inning with a two-RBI home run from Josh Rivera. Alabama would add runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Colby Shelton hit a solo home run to give Alabama its first lead in the sixth. Florida would tie the game in the eighth.

Great middle stretch
The fourth through sixth innings were good for the Crimson Tide, as they scored a run in each of the innings. Shelton brought in two of the runs, the first with an RBI single. The second was a huge home run, traveling 405 feet out to right field, that gave Alabama its first lead of the game. It was his 21st home run of the season, extending the freshman record.
Quality start by Holman, great relief from Moza
Luke Holman went 5⅔ innings, including five scoreless innings after allowing the two-run homer with two outs in the first inning. That was the only mistake he seemed to make all night but bounced back strong. He allowed four hits and three walks but struck out five batters. He threw 101 pitches to 22 batters.
Aidan Moza would come in relief, allowing one run over the 4⅓ innings he threw. He allowed two hits and three walks but struck out five batters, including the best two Florida bats to get out of a jam in the eighth.
