Alabama baseball hitting coach ejected vs. Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Alabama baseball hitting coach Matt Reida was ejected from the Crimson Tide’s game against Wake Forest on Saturday in Game 1 of the NCAA Tournament's Winston-Salem Super Regional.

Prior to a go-ahead home run by the Demon Deacons (50-10) in the bottom of the fifth inning, Reida was arguing with umpires from the dugout. At the end of the frame, umpires ejected Reida, who exited the game down the right-field line.

Alabama trailed 4-3 through five innings. The Crimson Tide (43-19) rallied from a 3-0 deficit with home runs by Caden Rose and Colby Shelton before Wake Forest's Danny Corona hit a solo homer in the fifth inning.

Alabama is in the super regional round for the first time since 2010 and is attempting to advance to the College World Series for the first time since 1999. Game 2 of the best-of-three series against the Demon Deacons is set for Sunday.
