Akron Zips forward Enrique Freeman tied an NCAA record in March Madness against Creighton.

Freeman recorded his 31st double-double of the season in the Zips' 77-60 loss to the Bluejays in the Round of 64, tying the mark set by Navy's David Robinson and North Carolina's Armando Bacot.

Freeman entered the tournament tied with Tom Gola, Jerry West, Xavier McDaniel and Blake Griffin with 30 double-doubles recorded in a single season.

The MAC Player of the Year has been remarkably consistent throughout the season for Akron. That consistency continued in the first round against Creighton, as Freeman hit three 3-pointers in the game's first 10 minutes — setting a new career-high for a single game.

Freeman is the all-time Akron Zips leader in rebounding, and now joins Hall of Famer Robinson in elite double-double company.

The Zips lost their NCAA Tournament opening round against Creighton, with Freeman finishing out his double-double (and Akron basketball career) with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
