Adorable video shows Brewers GM's son offering the job to new manager Pat Murphy
When Milwaukee Brewers general manager Matt Arnold decided on his team's new manager, he used an unusual method to deliver the news.
Arnold's son, Tyler, got the honor of delivering Pat Murphy the news that he'd be the Brewers' new manager starting in 2023 according to a video posted by the team on social media.
After Craig Counsell's stunning move to join the Chicago Cubs as their new manager, Milwaukee had to find a replacement.
On Wednesday morning, the team announced that Murphy would take over Milwaukee's managerial duties. Murphy previously served as the team's bench coach under Counsell from 2015 through the 2023 season.
Before that, he coached the San Diego Padres' Triple-A team, the El Paso Chihuahuas and served as the Padres' interim manager for half of a season when then-manager Bud Black was fired in 2015.
