These 6 local girls basketball stars earned nominations for the McDonald's All-American game
Looking forward to the 2024 McDonald's All-American Games? You might be seeing a few familiar faces.
Six girls basketball players from Courier/Intell teams earned nominations this week for the prestigious showcase game that features the top high school seniors in the country. The game is scheduled for April 2 at the Toyota Center in Houston; check out the nominees here.
Jessica Aponik, Germantown Academy
The Kutztown commit is second on the 13-3 Patriots in scoring, leads the team in steals, and is one of the GA’s top defenders. The 5-11 guard had a standout performance against Audenried where she tallied 23 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Isabella Casey, Germantown Academy
Casey, who recently committed to play Division 1 ball for Bucknell University, is the top scorer for the Inter-Ac leading Patriots, averaging 17 points per game. She had an impressive 23-point, 11-rebound outing in a win against Episcopal Academy last week.
Amber Howard, Bensalem
The NC A&T State University commit is one of the top scorers in the Suburban One League, reaching double digits in points in every game this season. The guard is averaging over 17 points per game, and has scored 20-plus points in four of the 8-4 Owls’ last six games.
Lola Ibarrondo, Neshaminy High School
Neshaminy’s ‘do-it-all’ player is a force to be reckoned with on both offense and defense with her athleticism and speed. The guard is second in scoring behind Reese Zemitis while leading in assists and steals. She will continue her education and basketball career at Holy Family University.
Ava Renninger, Archbishop Wood
The Farleigh Dickinson commit is leading the team in scoring, averaging 14 points per game while facilitating and playmaking for the Vikings. She scored 21 points against nationally-ranked McDonogh in a tournament win last month. She is one of the team’s leading rebounders.
Samantha Wade, Germantown Academy
The point guard does all the little things, and plenty of the big things, for the Patriots. Her defense and play-making have been essential for Germantown Academy this season. Her facilitating has led to a balanced scoring attack for the team, and, in addition to making tough passes in traffic, she can pile up the points when needed.
Reese Zemitis, Neshaminy High School
The forward is the top scorer among all Courier/Intell players, averaging 20 points per game. The Bucknell University commit has elevated her offensive game in a big way this season after averaging 13 points last year. Zemitis surpassed 1,000 career points this season, and has scored 20 or more points in six games this season for Neshaminy (9-3), with a season-high of 30 points.

When will the All-American Game's final rosters be announced?
The McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee, which includes high school analysts, scouts, media, and coaches, will select 48 players for the boys and girls Games final rosters. The rosters will be announced on January 24 at 3 p.m. on ESPN.
