5 ideal trade destinations for Jerry Jeudy
Over the course of the past two years, there has been a lot of trade rumors circulating regarding Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. The former Alabama wideout has been used somewhat sparingly in each of the last two seasons.
Needless to say, he could be on the outs in Denver. That is not to say that he does not have the potential to be an elite wide receiver in the NFL, because he certainly does.
Roll Tide Wire takes a look at five ideal destinations for Jerry Jeudy to land at if he were to be traded by Tuesday’s trade deadline.
Green Bay Packers
There is a young receiving core in Green Bay. Ever since Davante Adams was traded to the Raiders, the Packers have attempted to re-tool the wide receiver room. Although there are a handful of up-and-coming wide receivers, there is not a clear-cut WR1 in Green Bay.
With Jeudy being available for trade, it makes sense for the Packers front office to try and acquire him. He is still young and has the talent to become the top wide receiver option in Green Bay.
Dallas Cowboys
Ever since the Cowboys decided to trade former Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Browns, it has been an uphill climb at the wide receiver position. Mike McCarthy’s squad has been led by fourth-year pass-catcher CeeDee Lamb over the last few years. Outside of Lamb, no one has stepped up to the plate. Michael Gallup is seemingly always on the injury report and Brandin Cooks has not done much since signing with the team this offseason.
Altogether, it makes the most sense for the Cowboys to trade for Jeudy. It would likely take a couple mid-round picks to acquire Jeudy from the Broncos. That would not set the Cowboys back any in terms of the future of the franchise.
Cleveland Browns
Despite having a solidified, top-tier wide receiver in Amari Cooper, the Browns could afford to acquire a pass-catcher like Jerry Jeudy. The Browns seem to be competitors in the AFC North this season. With a wide receiver like Jeudy on the perimeter, it could open up opportunities for Cooper and other playmakers on the Browns offense.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have had minimal success when it comes to the wide receiver position in years past. The last two wide receivers that had success in Atlanta were Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Both of whom played for Alabama.
With the ample amount of success coming from the wide receiver position, it makes sense for the Falcons to trade for Jeudy. He has shown glimpses of being an elite wide receiver in the NFL. A change of scenery and a fresh start in Atlanta would be beneficial for both Jeudy and the Falcons organization.
Pittsburgh Steelers
It has been a hot-minute since the Steelers had a wide receiver like Antonio Brown. Ever since Brown left, there has been some struggles at the wide receiver position. George Pickens and Diontae Johnson have done their best to fill the void. However, the Steelers could use a little more support.
Jeudy and the Broncos seem to be at a ‘rock and a hard place.’ The Steelers have made some trades in the past to acquire key pieces for their roster. Trading for Jeudy makes a lot of sense for the Steelers.
