The Fire Department of New York says a 200-foot crane collapsed onto a building under construction in Queens borough Jan. 9, injuring seven people, three of them seriously.
Don: I lived through the lowering of standards for US Air Force enlistees in the early 1980s - Project 100,000. I eventually ended up separating all six of the troops sent to my squadron because they simply couldn't hack the mission. Lowering standards for the Border Patrol isn't going to improve things - it will simply cause them administrative headaches with sub-standard personnel and divert their effort from their primary mission.
