Lee McPhail (Oct. 25, 1917-Nov. 8, 2012) --
An executive who held nearly every position in baseball except commissioner, McPhail dedicated nearly half of his 95 years to the game. As president of the American League, it was McPhail who ruled in favor of George Brett in the infamous pine tar game. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998, joining his father, making them the only father-son duo in the Hall.
